Overview
Baggy Nanna is one of the three Sewn Sisters, a coven of night hags recruited by Acererak to create the Soulmonger using their expertise in stitching soul bags. She resides within the Tomb of the Nine Gods.
Appearance & Characteristics
Baggy Nanna has a squirming leather sack sewn over her head. This sack contains three living creatures: a cockerel, a viper, and a terrier. Any one of these animals can emerge from the bag in place of her own head to speak on her behalf. When Baggy Nanna dies, these animals turn to smoke.
Possessions
She carries the following items in her pockets:
- A heartstone (standard night hag item)
- A soul bag (used in the construction of the Soulmonger)
- Three goblin fingers
Coven Abilities
As part of the Sewn Sisters coven, Baggy Nanna shares access to a pool of hag coven spells with her sisters, Widow Groat and Peggy Deadbells. The coven’s hag eye is carried by the scarecrow Mister Threadneedle.
Magical Feast Connection
The iced cakes found in the magical feast area are tied to Baggy Nanna. Characters who consume these cakes gain 2d10 temporary hit points but suffer disadvantage on attack rolls made against Baggy Nanna for 24 hours.
Role in the Adventure
Baggy Nanna and her sisters guard the deeper levels of the tomb and have been torturing a doppelganger in a cage to learn more about the adventurers. They also created cruel playthings—dolls animated with children’s souls—including Strawbundle, Clay No-Face, and Joho, who can provide information about the hags and the tomb to adventurers.
