Bosco Daggerhand is the proprietor and de facto tavernkeeper of Bosco’s Bilge, the makeshift tavern at Jahaka Anchorage. He operates independently of the three pirate captains but commands respect from their crews solely because he controls the ale supply.

Appearance and Personality

Bosco earns his surname from a peculiar habit: he never shakes anyone’s hand without his other hand resting threateningly on the dagger in his sash. He wears a ring of animal influence that he uses to control his guard animal.

Role at Jahaka Anchorage

Bosco runs the tavern housed in an upturned ship hull that serves as the social center for off-duty pirates at the hidden anchorage. The establishment contains benches, stools, and tables on a sand floor, and reeks of spilled beer, old food, and stale tobacco smoke. At any given time, 2d6 pirates carouse in his tavern while another 1d6 are passed out on the tables or floor.

A handful of pirates at the anchorage answer to Bosco—not out of loyalty or fear, but simply because he’s “master of the ale.”

Guard Animal

Bosco keeps a semi-tame deinonychus as a guard animal, which he controls with his ring of animal influence. The pirates call the raptor “Knuckles”—a darkly humorous reference to the fact that anyone foolish enough to let it nip their hand won’t have anything else left.
