Bravus Boulderborn is a gold dwarf cleric of Moradin and a deceased member of the Company of the Yellow Banner, an adventuring party that explored Chult and the Tomb of the Nine Gods. He met his end in I’jin’s tomb (area 35B) when he stepped on floor tiles in the wrong sequence, triggering a deadly trap that released a swarm of locusts from sphinx statues, leaving only his bones and equipment behind.

Company of the Yellow Banner

Bravus was one of five known members of this adventuring company, alongside Lord Brixton (a Cormyrean knight), Seward (a Chondathan human ranger), Sephirius/Seph (a dragonborn paladin), and Devlin (the journal keeper). The party made landfall at Kitcher’s Inlet, followed the River Olung to Lake Luo, then traveled southwest through the jungle to Omu, where they searched for puzzle cubes, encountered yuan-ti, and eventually discovered the true entrance to the Tomb of the Nine Gods.

Death and Discovery

Bravus’s final moments are preserved in a magical vision visible through the jackal mask at the entrance to I’jin’s tomb (area 29). The vision shows him wearing a turban and chain mail, wielding a shield as he cautiously enters the tomb. When he steps on the wrong floor tile, locusts pour from the sphinx statues and engulf him, reducing him to bones and equipment in moments. This vision replays each time someone looks through the jackal mask, serving as a warning about the tomb’s deadly puzzle floor trap.

His skeletal remains lie on the floor east of the funeral barge in area 35B, still wearing his tattered yellow turban and dusty chain mail, clutching a bronze shield. The body rests atop a floor tile bearing the “foot” hieroglyph. Searching his remains yields treasure.
