Chief Yorb is a gold-skinned grung elite warrior who leads a grung community in Omu and resides in Nangnang’s shrine. He serves as the chief of the local grung population and rides a trained hadrosaurus mount.
Role & Behavior
Yorb commands a significant force of grungs including four orange-skinned elite warriors, one red-skinned wildling, and multiple green-skinned grungs stationed on the shrine’s rooftop. When threatened, he can call upon reinforcements—1d4 additional green-skinned grungs arrive each round until twenty have appeared.
Initially, Yorb is jumpy and distrustful of strangers, preferring to intimidate intruders rather than negotiate. However, his attitude changes dramatically if characters rescue his favored son (held captive in area 5), as he is currently unaware of his son’s disappearance.
Knowledge & Religion
Yorb and his grungs worship Nangnang, one of the nine trickster gods. If successfully engaged in negotiations, Yorb can recount the complete legend of Omu’s nine trickster gods, making him a valuable source of information about the city’s history and mythology.
Combat Tactics
If combat turns against him, Yorb retreats into the shrine with his elite guards and bars the doors from inside. Breaking through the barred doors requires a successful DC 25 Strength check.
