Overview
Kurtulmak is the kobold deity worshiped by the kobolds inhabiting Wyrmheart Mine. He does not physically appear in the adventure but is referenced through a shrine maintained by his followers.
Religious Significance
The kobolds of Wyrmheart Mine maintain a shrine to Kurtulmak in the eastern chamber off their main living quarters. The shrine contains:
- A 3-foot-tall statue of the deity assembled from bits of metal, glass, wood, and stone
- Food offerings piled around the statue’s base
- Two empty barrels (one serves as a pedestal for the statue)
The Statue
The statue itself is constructed from scavenged materials and has no intrinsically valuable components. However, it weighs 15 pounds and would be worth 10 gp to a curio collector in Port Nyanzaru. The kobolds themselves keep no treasure in the shrine—all valuables they find are surrendered to Tinder (their leader).
Location
The shrine is located in the kobold living quarters of Wyrmheart Mine (area 8), which contains 2d6 kobolds during the day and 6d6 at night (half being noncombatants). The shrine chamber is accessed from the east side of the main living area where the kobolds sleep on reed mounds and cook food over a central fire pit.
