Overview
Lukanu is a female Chultan champion who served as bodyguard to Queen Napaka of Omu. She has been trapped in the Mirror of Life Trapping (area 50) since the fall of the city, making her imprisonment centuries long.
Equipment & Combat Stats
Lukanu wears scorpion armor (detailed in appendix C) and uses the champion stat block from appendix D.
Imprisonment & Release
Lukanu is held in cell 11 of the Mirror of Life Trapping. If the mirror is destroyed, she is released along with all other trapped creatures.
Relationships
- Queen Napaka: Her former charge. Lukanu is loyal to the fallen queen and will not leave Omu until she discovers what happened to her (the queen’s fate is revealed in area 53 - the Crypt of the Sun Queen).
- Zaal: The minotaur imprisoned in cell 4 obeys Lukanu’s commands, suggesting a pre-existing relationship or bond from their time in ancient Omu.
Behavior When Released
If freed from the mirror, Lukanu proves helpful to her liberators:
- She immediately aids the party in combat, joining forces with Zaal to destroy the giant four-armed gargoyle (defeating it in 4 rounds).
- After eliminating the gargoyle, she assists the characters against other hostile creatures like the invisible stalker and troll.
- Despite her willingness to help, she refuses to leave Omu until learning Queen Napaka’s fate, making her a potential ally throughout the rest of the tomb exploration.
