Nephyr is a male aarakocra from the settlement of Kir Sabal who is held prisoner by pterafolk at Firefinger (level 3 of the spire, 240 feet above ground). He was captured while on patrol and is bound at the wrists, ankles, and beak with rope, having been disarmed by his captors.
Captivity
Nephyr is confined in the eastern portion of a cave inhabited by four elder pterafolk. He knows that at least eight pterafolk live on Firefinger’s peak, though he cannot say how many are present at any given time.
Role in the Adventure
If freed by the characters, Nephyr becomes grateful and urges them to visit Kir Sabal to petition Asharra, presumably a leader among the aarakocra. He speaks of the Dance of the Seven Winds, a magical ritual that grants nonflying creatures the ability to fly.
Upon returning to Kir Sabal, Nephyr spreads word of the characters’ heroism, granting them advantage on Charisma checks made to influence the aarakocra of Kir Sabal going forward.
Knowledge
Nephyr is mentioned in passing as one of several creatures who might possess knowledge about Omu’s location or the source of the death curse, at the DM’s discretion.
