Overview
Orvex is a human scribe and translator currently in service to the Red Wizards of Thay during their expedition to Omu. His loyalty to the wizards is tenuous, making him receptive to befriending the adventurers.
Role in the Adventure
Orvex works for the Red Wizards who entered Omu a couple of days before the characters’ arrival. The Red Wizards established a camp in a ruined compound (area 2) but were nearly wiped out in a night raid by Ras Nsi’s forces. The surviving wizards—Dyrax, Thazma, Yamoch, and Zagmira—continue searching the ruins for the Soulmonger, having identified its location within the Tomb of the Nine Gods (area 14). They have separated to search for the puzzle cubes needed to unlock the tomb.
