Overview
Sadamor was an archmage of ancient Netheril and the original owner of the Black Opal Crown, one of the tomb’s fabled treasures.
History and Fate
Sadamor gazed into the black opal of his crown and witnessed the depths of humanity’s evil reflected within it. Heartbroken by this revelation, he created a sphere of annihilation as a doomsday device intended to swallow the world. However, Sadamor was ultimately consumed by his own creation before he could carry out his apocalyptic plan.
Legacy
The Black Opal Crown survived its creator and now rests within the Tomb of the Nine Gods in the maze of death (area 49). The yuan-ti nightmare speaker Fenthaza believes the crown possesses the power to awaken Dendar the Night Serpent, making it an object of great danger. If characters acquire the crown, Fenthaza will attempt to kill them before they can escape Chult with it.
