Savras is the god of divination, fate, wizards, and fortune tellers—a deity whose followers value truth-telling above all else. His holy symbol is a monstrous eye or a crystal ball filled with eyes.

Temple in Port Nyanzaru

Savras maintains one of the oldest and grandest temples in Port Nyanzaru (location 7 in the Merchants Ward). The building features a distinctive great dome whose tiled roof resembles an unblinking eye staring skyward.

Historical Significance

Before the Spellplague, Savras was widely worshiped throughout Chult. His clergy were especially valued for their ability to scry on the activities of the yuan-ti, who remain prominent bogeymen in Chultan imagination. In modern times, the temple’s services focus on more mundane divinations: business portents, newborn children’s futures, and matters of the heart.

Current Clergy

Grandfather Zitembe (LG male Chultan human priest) serves as the temple’s head priest. He demonstrates strong moral principles—when three Zhentarim assassins offer him a 500 gp ruby to help locate Artus Cimber, Zitembe senses their evil intentions and refuses them.

Role in the Adventure

Characters seeking information about the Soulmonger can approach Zitembe for aid. Initially skeptical that the death curse originates in Chult, he can be persuaded to “consult the guides” with a compelling argument or a 25 gp donation to the temple. This 24-hour ritual grants him visions of “a jungle city far to the south, enclosed by cliffs and crawling with snakes” and “a black obelisk draped in vines”—clues pointing toward Omu and the Tomb of the Nine Gods. Zitembe urges characters to seek out this city and obelisk, though he dares not peer deeper into the visions.
