Sigbeorn Dunebar is a veteran male Illuskan human (NG) who serves as the head cook at Fort Beluarian. He has logged more years in Chult than any other living member of the Flaming Fist stationed there, and he genuinely loves the region.
Role and Background
When Sigbeorn grew too old for combat patrols and jungle fighting, he voluntarily transferred to kitchen duty rather than leave Chult. He now works in the officers’ kitchen (area 10D), which serves the camp’s officers and guests and prepares meals for feasts, while enlisted troops generally prepare their own food by squad in the barracks area.
Responsibilities
Beyond his duties as head cook, Sigbeorn holds an important logistical position: he is responsible (under the castellan) for ensuring Fort Beluarian always maintains an adequate food supply. This makes him a critical figure in the fort’s day-to-day operations.
Quarters
Sigbeorn quarters in area 10H (the Gauntlets’ Room) along with three other veterans who serve as corporals (gauntlets) in the Flaming Fist garrison. This room was originally intended as a ready room for regular guard duty soldiers but has been repurposed for these senior personnel.
