Overview
Soakosh is a yuan-ti pureblood stationed in the Hall of War (area 2) of the Fane of the Night Serpent. He serves as a military overseer responsible for mustering yuan-ti troops before they deploy into Omu.
Physical Description & Characteristics
Soakosh (pronounced SOH-kawsh) is notably fat for a yuan-ti and has a forked tongue. He is rarely seen without his favorite snack: candied grung eggs, which he keeps in a bag at hand.
Role & Responsibilities
Soakosh commands four yuan-ti broodguards stationed in the Hall of War. His primary duties include:
- Overseeing troop deployments into the city
- Managing the hall’s combat assets (basilisks and triceratops)
- Coordinating military responses to threats
Combat Tactics
When the temple alarm is raised, Soakosh commands his broodguards to unchain the two basilisks kept in the western alcoves and lead them into battle like war hounds. If combat erupts in area 2 without a general alarm, one of his broodguards will run to strike the gong in area 9, alerting the entire temple.
Location
Soakosh is stationed in area 2 (Hall of War), a large room featuring:
- Four serpent-carved pillars
- An 18-foot-high statue of a coiled cobra
- Two chained basilisks in western alcoves
- A triceratops in a metal pen (used to pull supply wagons)
- Two wagons for transporting supplies
