The Starfallen is a female moon elf warlock whose spirit has been trapped in a ghost lantern for nearly a thousand years. She was slain by a fomorian, and her soul inhabited the lantern after death. If the lantern is destroyed, her spirit becomes trapped in the Soulmonger.
Discovery
The ghost lantern containing the Starfallen is found in the Forge of the Tomb Dwarves (area 27), lying on a bench next to tools. The lantern once belonged to Seward. When a character touches the lantern, the Starfallen’s insubstantial spirit becomes visible within—she cannot be harmed nor cause harm herself.
History
The Company of the Yellow Banner discovered the ghost lantern and began questing to restore the Starfallen to life. They sought the fabled Eye of Zaltec, which was said to possess the power to raise the ancient dead. The company tracked the jewel to the Tomb of the Nine Gods but perished before finding it.
Current State
After a millennium of existence within the lantern, the Starfallen’s spirit has weakened considerably and grown forgetful. She remembers little of her past or her travels with the Company of the Yellow Banner, though certain things might jog her memory.

- Can provide hints to help adventurers progress through the tomb when they become stuck

The ghost lantern is detailed in Appendix C. The Starfallen exists as an insubstantial spirit within it and serves primarily as a potential source of information and guidance for the party.
