Ymezra is Jessamine’s shy twelve-year-old daughter, born from a brief love affair between Jessamine and an Amnian sea captain. Under her mother’s watchful supervision, tutors are training Ymezra in the skills necessary to eventually inherit and manage the family business—dealing in plants, herbs, poisons, and sanctioned assassinations in Port Nyanzaru.
