Zongo is a flatulent racing triceratops owned by Faroul and Gondolo, two incompetent fortune hunters in Port Nyanzaru. The pair purchased Zongo for dinosaur racing but the creature proved hopelessly slow, so they now use it as a pack animal instead.
Zongo represents one of the few remaining assets from Faroul and Gondolo’s squandered fortune—the duo arrived in Port Nyanzaru with significant wealth but quickly lost most of it gambling on dinosaur races and accumulating debts to bookies and merchant princes. The triceratops is essentially all they have to show for months of debauchery in the city.
While Zongo’s racing career was a failure, it still serves a practical purpose as a beast of burden when Faroul and Gondolo offer their services as guides to adventuring parties seeking Needle’s Bones.
