Description
A ring of jumping is offered as a reward by Krr’ook, King Groak’s vizier in Dungrunglung.
Context & Acquisition
Krr’ook proposes a desperate plan to deceive King Groak during the Great Ritual, where the king expects the goddess Nangnang to materialize and proclaim her love for him. To make the deception work, Krr’ook needs the adventurers’ help to create a convincing illusion of the goddess.
If the party successfully helps Krr’ook fool King Groak—by painting or crafting a representation of Nangnang, animating it convincingly, and selling the illusion with persuasive dialogue—Krr’ook rewards them with:
- A box of Nolzur’s marvelous pigments (which she had previously hidden from the king)
- A ring of jumping
The deception requires the party to succeed at three or more specific skill checks involving creating the image, animating it, voicing Nangnang convincingly, and orchestrating her departure. If the trickery fails, King Groak orders the party’s execution.
