Bosco’s Bilge is a makeshift tavern at Jahaka Anchorage, serving as the off-duty gathering spot for pirates in the anchorage. The establishment is built from the hull of a captured ship that was too slow for piracy but proved watertight. The pirates hauled the vessel from the bay, dismantled it, and inverted the hull to create the building.

Physical Description

The interior features benches, stools, and several tables set on a sand floor. The atmosphere is thick with the smell of spilled beer, old food, and stale tobacco smoke. The tavern operates at all hours, typically hosting 2d6 carousing pirates at any given time, with another 1d6 passed out on the furniture or floor.

Location and Access

Bosco’s Bilge is located within the watchtower structure at Jahaka Anchorage (area 6A). The watchtower itself stands 30 feet above ground, surrounded by a crenelated parapet and equipped with a ballista. Access to the tavern is via a spiral staircase carved into a nearby rock pillar. When the brass alarm bell atop the tower is rung, pirates stream out of Bosco’s Bilge to defend the anchorage.

Proprietor and Security

The tavern is run by Bosco Daggerhand (NE male human thug), named for his habit of keeping one hand on the dagger in his sash during any handshake. Bosco owns a ring of animal influence which he uses to control Knuckles, a semi-tame deinonychus that serves as the establishment’s guard animal. The pirates nicknamed the raptor “Knuckles” as a dark joke—anyone foolish enough to let it bite their hand won’t have much hand left afterward.
