Overview
The Dungeon of Deception is the second level of the Tomb of the Nine Gods. It features graven devil faces mocked into the walls and an overwhelming stench of rotting flesh throughout. Unlike the upper level, no vegetation grows here due to the absence of light.
Atmosphere
The level creates a hostile, oppressive environment designed to unsettle and mislead explorers. The carved devil faces serve as both decoration and warning, while the pervasive smell of decay signals the dangers that lie within.
Layout
The level’s design lives up to its name, incorporating false tombs, misleading passages, and deceptive challenges meant to confound and trap adventurers seeking passage deeper into the tomb. The absence of the vegetation found on level 1 creates a stark, dead atmosphere that emphasizes the artificial and malevolent nature of the dungeon.
