Eberron is mentioned only briefly in the adventure as an alternative starting location option. The city of Sharn on Eberron is suggested as a possible large settlement where the adventure can begin, instead of the default starting location of Baldur’s Gate in the Forgotten Realms.
Campaign Flexibility
DMs can choose to start Tomb of Annihilation from Sharn if their campaign is set in the Eberron setting. The death curse—a wasting disease affecting those who have been raised from the dead—has spread across multiple D&D worlds, making the adventure portable to different campaign settings. From Sharn, characters would need to travel to Chult to investigate and resolve the death curse.
