Groak’s Isle is the central shrine within the grung settlement of Dungrunglung. The shrine serves as both a religious monument and the seat of power for the grung leadership.
Description
The shrine stands 60 feet tall, constructed from carved mud blocks painted with natural dyes. Marshy shores surround the island, providing natural defensive barriers to the structure.
Defenses
Eight grung elite warriors with orange skin patrol the base of the shrine. These warriors are armed with daggers and shortbows and maintain a strict hierarchy of loyalty—they serve Roark (a key grung figure) first and King Groak second. Any strangers who reach the island without a grung escort are immediately attacked, making unauthorized access extremely dangerous.
Significance
The location functions as the political and likely spiritual center of grung society in Dungrunglung, named after King Groak himself. The shrine’s impressive height and decorated construction reflect its importance to the grung community.
