The Harbormaster’s Office serves as the administrative center for Port Nyanzaru’s bustling docks and as a resource hub for adventurers seeking wilderness guides.

Structure and Function

The office is a sturdy, airy building located in the Harbor Ward. A bulletin board outside displays the names and whereabouts of several wilderness guides available for hire, making it a key resource for expeditions into Chult’s interior.

The Harbormaster

Zindar is the harbormaster—a half-gold dragon whose stat block appears in appendix D. He prefers hands-on management, spending most of his time on the quayside directly resolving the hundreds of daily disputes, traffic jams, and minor problems that arise in the busy port. Zindar believes his imposing personal presence resolves issues more quickly and satisfactorily than delegating to subordinates.

Due to his constant movement throughout the docks, Zindar is seldom in the office itself. The clerks who staff the building typically don’t know his exact location at any given time, but they can take messages for him. He leaves replies within 1d6 hours.

When adventurers present themselves to Zindar, he offers them a quest (detailed in the “Side Quests” section of the adventure).
