The Laughing Gorge is located east of the lost city of Mezro. It lies between Mezro and Kir Sabal (a bird folk monastery on a plateau up the Olung River), serving as a natural boundary in this region of the jungle.

Associated Rumors

Two pieces of information connect to the Laughing Gorge:

  1. Route to the Bird Folk Monastery: Travelers describe the gorge as a landmark on the journey to Kir Sabal, where aarakocra (bird folk) inhabit a monastery hanging from the side of a plateau. According to rumor, these bird folk are holding “the last royal heir of Chult” as their prisoner.

  2. Dragon Bone Treasure: Local legend claims that Chult was once the playground of a green dragon, and her bones now mark the location of a hidden treasure trove. The rumored route to find these bones leads east from Mezro across the Laughing Gorge, then south toward Kir Sabal.
