The Maze of Death is a trapped section in the Tomb of the Nine Gods, sealed off by stone slabs at its entrances. This corner of the dungeon contains multiple dangerous elements designed to challenge and potentially kill adventurers who enter.

The maze consists of several distinct areas:
Stone Slabs (49a)
Stone slabs block the entrances to this section of the dungeon, requiring removal or bypass to access the maze.
Green Devil Face (49b)
A green devil face—a signature element of Acererak’s deadly traps—is present within the maze. These devil faces typically function as sphere of annihilation traps that instantly destroy anything thrust into their mouths.
Black Opal Crown (49c)
One of the fabled treasures of the tomb, the Black Opal Crown, is located within the Maze of Death. This makes the area both extremely dangerous and potentially rewarding for adventurers brave enough to navigate its perils.

The Maze of Death serves as both a deadly obstacle and a treasure vault. Parties must weigh the significant risk of the green devil face trap against the reward of claiming the Black Opal Crown, one of the tomb’s most valuable artifacts.
