Yklwazi Hill is one of Port Nyanzaru’s four defining hills, located east of the harbor and connected by a wide stone bridge to neighboring Mount Sibasa (the city’s tallest hill, home to the Hall of Gold). The hill’s name is pronounced “yick-ul-WAH-zee.”
Location Features
The Grand Coliseum sits atop Yklwazi Hill, making it one of the city’s prominent landmarks. Like other hills in Port Nyanzaru, Yklwazi Hill is surrounded by steep, stepped streets and terraces that provide access to its elevated position.
Strategic Position
The stone bridge connecting Yklwazi Hill to Mount Sibasa creates an important thoroughfare between the Grand Coliseum and the Hall of Gold (temple of Waukeen), linking two of the city’s major civic and religious centers.
